So this is my last week as an intern. I will be at Harvard University all weekend for one of the biggest events that we have. My last day is Tuesday, so it should be a great way to end this internship.

Still no luck w/ jobs so far. It is getting closer to the 2nd domino falling here for me to stay with the organization, the only downside is that if I got the job the office is in West Springfield. But that is better than having to move out to Illinois (where I will never willingly go to work again, unless I am in Chicago (maybe)). Hoping to get a call from URI for an interview. also have an application in with U-Penn. Time will tell where I end up, just so long as it is out of my rent's house. It has been better their but still, I just want a place I can call mine.

Back to getting ready for this weekend

EDIT: just checked U-Penn application status and it says I have not been selected for an interview. I dont know if that means totally not going to happen or if I am on the back burner. Either way, URI seems like my only hope for an interview right now...

So first lets start with the happy stuff. I am as of 9:52 AM on 5/13 because that is when my grade for my internship was posted. The graduation ceremony was on 5/9 and no I did not go to Central Bumble Fcuk for it. Saturday was a good time with work and my event that I was in charge of. Just a few snags but nothing big. Sunday started off good with some softball, but then crap hit the fan when I got home.

I went to log on to my computer (note: it is my computer, I own it, it is in my room and have password protected the log-in since about 2 months ago) and the Admin log-in is not an option. The only log-in option on my computer is my mother's (which I did not create). Come to find out she somehow got onto my computer and created a log-in for herself and gave herself admin permissions. This then caused the Admin log-in (the one with all of my settings, documents, files etc.) to disappear because a different log-in with admin permissions was created. So now I have to create my own log-in for my own computer through her log-in name and reset all of my settings. Needless to say I was livid. I mean it is my computer!!!! It is virtually the only thing in that house that is mine and not in a common area or for public use. There are 3 other computers that are upstairs and at least 2 more downstairs. The reason she gave for doing it, "I needed to get on the internet."

I cannot believe the level of disrespect here. I have not spoken to her since Sunday and didnt even spend the night at home that evening since I was so furious. I just hope that I get a job soon so I can move out of there with the quickness because it is clear that she has no boundaries and no respect for people's property and personal things.

Rocking weekend. The Jack & Jill party was a good time with all of the guys there and sort of meeting the bride's maids. I say sort of because they really didnt talk to us too much (or maybe just me idk). I mean I already knew two of them and we talked but the new faces were pretty quiet.

Bachelor Party was on Sat. Paintball was a rocking good time!!!! I cannot wait to go again. I think everyone had a good time, which makes me happy too. Then after coming home and cleaning up we went out to Billerica (pronounced bɪlˈrɪkə for you non-Massholes / New Englanders out there). then we went out for a drink afterwards. I was wiped out by the end of the night, but I had a lot of fun and we all got to come home with some war stories. Which I always like to have, and it has been a while since I have had any with the gang. Usually they are all SCA / Markland battle stories or just a few of the gang, so having the whole crew there made it better.

It also helped that the Rents went away from Thurs to Sat night. I was hoping they wouldnt get back till Sun, but that didnt work out. Some of the best nights of sleep I have had (mainly because I wasnt woken up at 6:00 am).

So last week I sent off my final project for my internship, and I do not see me failing so I will be officially graduated on May 9.

It was perfect timing on the finishing up the project because I got a 4-day weekend and went down to NJ and PA to do some Markland fighting and visit people. It was a killer weekend, and I forgot how much I miss going to those events with the Clan.

Visiting Nate was a great time too. I really do miss everyone from RU.

Next step is to really start pushing my resume out there. Looking for jobs in New England and Mid-Atlantic region of the US, so hopefully someone will bite.

This weekend should be good too, got the Jack & Jill BBQ on Friday, and who knows for the rest of the weekend but I want it to be good since in a few weeks my weekends belong to work.

Everything is moving along, and for the most part smoothly. I need to, and am, pushing myself to get a few projects that are hanging over my head done. Namely this internship video and final paper. About a month ago I was very excited to do it (as excited one could be to do a project), but then it got spoiled for me and I just needed to separate myself from all work for a week. So my goal of finishing it all a month early was missed. Now I have a little over a week to finish it all, which should not be a problem.

In other news I am very excited the Bruins made the play-offs; however, I am dreading playing the Habs. There is just so much history between these two teams and it usually ends poorly for the B's. But it is the play-offs and who knows maybe they will take it to them. Here is hoping.

I am getting very excited for major events that are in the works / planned for the upcoming month.

Going to NJ once I hand in the internship project, so that is exciting too.

alright enough from me

Living at home is really wearing me thin right now. the hypocrisies that occur here and just the constant nagging just really have soured me. I have noticed that I lose my temper and get livid about something so much easier now. Yet another reason why I try to avoid my house as much as possible. It is like i am living with monkeys on my back (not the fun kind). I really wish that they would just relax and let me take care of what I need to do on my own timetable. I hate how they think that nothing is getting done just because they dont see you working on it. I am old enough now to know what i need to do to get something done for the deadline so STFU!!!!!!!!

i really cant wait till i can move out of here. on top of the fabulous company in this house the space that i have as "my own" is anything but. not to mention a good portion of my belongings are surrounding me in boxes. a paying job cant get here soon enough.

So back home now and been here for some time. Work is great! the people are great and so is the cause.

So I have come to realize why I got along with just about everyone I lived with throughout college with minimal confrontations/problems (there were a few but they all worked out and i realized how I was able to work through those problems too). I am currently living with the worst house mates ever...my family. Now I had to get up early on Sat. for work, and I am so looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday. But no, my parents are yelling to each other from across the house, my dad outside my door. then Sunday night I went to bed early (i was tired, imagine that) and I have been in bed for some time, just falling asleep and my mom bursts in to talk to me. Of course I just grunt back because I WAS SLEEPING!!!! and this happened again this morning. everyone leaves for work before I do, but they cant get ready quietly so I end up waking up with them and trying to enjoy my hour of extra sleep that I so enjoy, but it is ruined.

I guess I shouldnt complain too much, I mean I do get free room and board, but still when any one of them is sleeping if you wake them up all hell breaks loose...

So Thank you to all my past roommates, and apartment mates for at least being the least bit courteous when you knew I was sleeping. And i guess thank you family for helping me prepare for, and be able to look past the little things when dealing with roommates, because you are the worst there is.

Srry for the complaining fest, just needed to get that out there.

I sit here and cant stop thinking about where i will be 7 days from now. in 7 days I will not be in Illinois any more, I will be done with academic classes for a long time, I will practically be out in the real world.

This is exciting and scary at the same time. I have to get through my internship but come June I will be out there looking to begin my career as a professional and no longer a student (only in academic terms, learning never ends).

Before I look to far in the future I have to get through one more presentation and one more take-home final. Then there is packing my life into my car and driving back home. I have come to the point where I do not want to prove myself to these professors, I just want out of here because I have felt like this semester was a complete waste of my time learning nothing but how to be very frustrated. This is of course only one the academic side of things. Work this year was wonderful and I could not have asked for a better semester with the events we held. I will miss the Staff here, and thank all of them for the lessons they have taught me since I came out here.

now just to get through the 5 days left here, the 1 day of driving, and then let the rejoicing begin.

On the drive home i am planning on stopping around Phili area to visit a buddy of mine.

Still not motivated to do ANYTHING! well by anything i mean work or school work. Part of the whole thing at work is cause once I finish the few things that I have left I really dont have anything left to do, so I will be just twiddling my thumbs.

Very exciting time for Boston and New England sports fans, in fact it is quite exhausting trying to keep up with the Pats, the Sox, BC Eagles and now the Celtics and the Bruins are actually looking good and winning. When it rains it pours, but that is a good thing in this case.

back to twiddling for an hour then back to the apt for more procrastination probably and some counting the days away.

Yes I am still alive out in the corn. Great news I have gotten an internship in MA!!! So come Dec 15 I will be on the road back to MA and staying there for a prolonged period of time. I am excited about this internship because I will be helping a great philanthropic organization fulfill their Mission while I gain professional experience.

Along the lines of coming home: I plan on coming back for Thanksgiving. This means I would be arriving by plane on / around the 16th. Unfortunately, with the price of plane tickets, I would only be home for a week. The unfortunate part is it will only last a week and I know that week will go by very quickly. But it will be time to spend w/ my friends and family.

On another note I am not motivated at all this semester to do any academic work whatsoever. This stems from the fact that my professors are not really teaching, it is more of reading from the book. Thats right, I am pursuing my Masters and I am being read to on a daily basis. This 'class' time would be better spent by me doing other things, or just reading the book myself. I think that as a 23 year old getting an advanced degree I am capable of reading a book and understanding it myself. I do not need someone to read it to me.

Other than the academic side of things everything is well. Kind of a shut-in this semester but there really isn't much to do. I get out when needed but I am definitely spending less time at work and more time for myself.

Cannot wait to see everyone soon.

I miss those summer days where we would practice vb on our own all day, and then just have a blast playing against other teams. We had a CYC vb style comeback victory last night. we were down 1-9 then 8-15 (games are to 16) and ended up winning 16-15. it rocked!!!!

Also i am going to be returning to Illinois on Aug 9 for one more semester. just gonna have to enjoy civilization while i can.

So I now have less than 1 month left out here before I can rejoin civilization. It was great to get away for a few days over easter. This upcoming week I will mostly be gone to a conference. I just cant wait to get out of here. and that is what is keeping me going right now. Lots of crap hitting the fan at work, school and just in life in general. see everyone soon

Ok so it is just about April. Next weekend I get to leave Macomb behind and travel to NJ for Easter. then 2 weeks after that I travel to Minniapolis for a conference. So i get out of Macomb quite a bit this month, but unfortunately a lot of things are due during this month too. Ill chug through it though.

April will probably fly by then it is May and that means driving to NJ to Get medieval and camp with some of the best ppl around. oh and drink Yuengling. I cant wait.

Good news on the Summer job front. Got a call from the Leom Rec Dept yesterday and they seem really interested. Had a mini-phone interview so hopefully something will come from that. the down side is if i do work for them it will be for 6 weeks and that is from June 30 to Aug 10. That would mean no Pennsic, unless they would be able to let me leave the first week in Aug. But it would be a great job otherwise. Good resume builder, good pay, and it would be Mon-Fri so weekends off and it is for the City so Fourth of July would be no work too.

Hope I get it and can leave early so i can still go to Pennsic. I really have my heart set on going to experience it, and i know a lot of other ppl want me to be able to go too.

Burn out is still here but the weather is warming up and grilled out last night so that was nice, and my burgers that I made were rocking. Alright i should get to doing some hw.

Cant believe it is almost April which means everything will get really crazy with due dates and stuff.

Here is hoping the nice weather and all wont stop me from being productive (although i have been majorly procrastinating this week)

I also have this urge, mainly because i have been reading the back story, to play all of the warcrafts through story mode and all that jazz again. I has been a while since i played them.

I also kinda want to play Starcraft... if only i had a computer of my own here...

but then again it is a good thing i dont cause then none of my work would get done, ever.

Ill just have to wait till May to flush out these gaming desires and hope that my PS2 and Wii can satisfy till then...

Anyone else interested in starting to play these RTS games agian w/ me?

Spring break is almost over. it is currently Evacuation day and I got to wake up at 4 this morning so i could go to work at 5:30. the reason for getting up so early was so i could let the puppy out so she would not explode while i was gone. I have been puppy sitting for one of the house mates this week and it has been fun, but tedious too.

Cant wait till tomorrow and all the fun that i plan on having.

Looking forward to April and all the times I will be out of Macomb and the state of IL in general. Also once April is over May begins and that means finals and coming home to MA for the summer.

btw i think over the course of my time at the front desk today (5 hrs so far) maybe a dozen people overall have come in to work out. So I have been playing on the computer and reading up on WoW storyline and other randome things.

    <lj:music>Drop Kick Murphy's - I'm Shipping out to Boston</lj:music>

This week has been a wonderful time (insert sarcasm). Roomie drama came to a head the other day with fighting over the thermostat. I put up a fight just to get it across to some of the house mates that I was also giving something up by having the temp set so high throughout the day and night. But throughout the meeting i felt like I was being attacked by 2 members of the house. After the meeting I had to get out of the house so i went to the gym with some Damage Plan blairing in my car and Pentara - Great Southern Trend Kill in my walkman. I am glad I will get to hit people on sunday at a fighter practice finally. Also this weekend is the weight lifting competition. I am in the lightweight division, but i will probably still be putting up some low weights compared to everyone else cause i havent really been training for it. oh well, it should be fun anyhow.

It is almost Spring break!!! yay, unfortunately I will be in Macomb for the week but no one else will be so I will be able to get some time by myself which should be nice, just hope to celebrate St. Pattie's day right. After that I travel to NJ for Easter, Minniapolis for NIRSA mid-April, and in May back to NJ for some West Windsor and then home for the summer.

Looking forward to my travels and mini-vacations throughout the rest of the semester, academics are going well and im not really putting in too much effort.

Last week I won a Nintendo Wii in a raffle, i am happy for that since i got gyped out of getting one when they first came out.

hope all is well with everyone else, and not too much drama is happening: Pennisic is approaching fast! i so cant wait!!!

so it has been a while since i updated.

It was great to be home for a month and thank you to everyone for the good times had while I was home.

being back in Macomb is fairly crappy. Living in a sweet house but there are a few problems. the roomies dont talk to anyone when they have a problem. but hopefully that will change soon.

I am really fed up with being out here and am truly unhappy. as hard as it is to believe I have not made many friends out here, mainly because most of the ppl are super-clickie and for those of you who know me, I dont usually fit into a mold well. Especially when the ppl are mostly comprised of mo-mos. Really my one friend is Tank, bt having one friend is never a good thing, especially since i hate bitching to the same person over and over again. but that is what it might come down to... I cant wait till the summer when i can come home to MA.

I havent been able to workout for a while thanks to illness and now just being busy and snow days. Also havent made it to a fighter practice yet which pisses me off since I tried to make it so that I would be able to go, and then they changed the practice dates. I also hope to start making it to some indoor paddling sessions in teh pool on Monday nights. I really do want ot make it to the fighter practices so maybe i can actually meet some ppl who I have something in common with. I also want to hit things.

Looking forward to Pennsic this summer too :) for those who dont know what it is go to www.pennsic.net It is a huge SCA event and I do want to try and get a few ppl from MA (Double D and Mobes atleast) to go/start fighting. So that means making it to some summer practies too.

On another note Im trying to figure out if i can actually make it to Texas for Spring break. Just booked my flight to NJ for Easter to surprise a few ppl and keep with the Easter tradition since I went to Rutgers. Really do hope that i can make it to texas jsut so i can say that i have been there...
